Story of Yuca

Yuca is an authentic taqueria located in Rovaniemi at Rovakatu 21. A taqueria is a Mexican restaurant specializing in handmade tacos and other authentic Mexican dishes. The name "YUCA" refers to the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico, which has inspired the food, drinks, decor, and overall atmosphere of the restaurant.

"We had dreamed for years of opening an authentic Mexican restaurant in Rovaniemi, and when the space next to Cafe & Bar 21 became available, we decided to make it happen! In 2017, we visited Yucatán in Mexico, where we met this wonderful couple, Fernando and Fernanda (yes, those are their real names). They worked at a local restaurant as head chef and bartender. After a few tequilas, we had a crazy idea and 'kidnapped' them to Rovaniemi to help us open our new restaurant! Their knowledge of authentic Mexican flavors still shines through in both the food and drinks – one big reason why Yuca is such a beloved restaurant."
